Now Ulysse Nardin replica watch enters the fray with the Marine Chronograph Annual Calendar . There are a few colour variations to choose from: an egg shell dial, a silver tone dial, and navy blue dials with either silver or gold accents.
The 43mm coin-edge case comes in steel or red gold, and has a screw-down crown with rubber grip (the Marine Chronograph Annual Calendar is water-resistant to 100m).
Of course, Ulysse Nardin is the company responsible for the FreakLab (read James Gurney on its importance here), so the UN-153 movement inside is rather unusual. Rather than the thirty or so components normally required for an annual calendar module, mens fake Ulysse Nardin watch has whittled it down to twelve – three more wheels were required to upgrade the UN-118’s simple calendar to an annual calendar.
The UN-153 has a silicon balance spring and escapement manufactured by Sigatec (co-owned by Ulysse Nardin), and an anchor-decorated rotor visible through the caseback. Handily, the time and date can be set forwards or backwards.
All have large Roman numerals – a throwback to those marine chronometer dials – with a 30-minute subdial at 3 o’clock and a combined small second and month subdial at 9 o’clock. A round, white date window overlaps the bottom of a 12-hour subdial at 6 o’clock. On the blue dial versions this can’t help but stand out – a lot of brands these days take the time to make sure their date window backgrounds match the dials – although the prominent aperture and symmetrical position (at least it’s not at 4 o’clock) do somewhat atone for that mismatch. This simplicity bears an uncanny resemblance to the Ochs & Junior annual calendar system, developed some four years ago (and recently released in a new lightweight guise), by Ludwig Oeschlin, formerly of… Ulysse Nardin.
The steel Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Annual Calendar copy model comes on a matching steel bracelet, whilst both versions can be worn with an alligator strap or a metal and rubber bracelet.
